While in the kitchen peeling potatoes, Purring Piggy and I were having a conversation with The Queen (who is seven) about reading.


TQ: ...I read Discovery books, where I discover things.

PP: (mock shock) You discover things!

MK: You can't learn things when it is not school time!

TQ: (dark and bitter) I know, you never let me do school. I want to do math so bad I will die!


We are so cruel to the poor child...
