I am am chronicly impulsive with my reading. There are times when I have to start a new book, even if I haven't finished all the other ones I am reading. But, I decided that it was time to change. After having a huge "books being read currently" pile, I have pared it down to only five! From being as tall as my bed, the pile is now only a foot tall! It consists of: Framley Parsonage by Anthony Trollope, Middlemarch by George Eliot, The Fellowship of the Ring by JRR Tolkien, The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas, and At Home in Mitford by Jan Karon. Of course, this state of brevity will not last long...I have several books ready to start. But, I hope to maintain a steady habit of finishing at least one book before starting another.

I assume that means that you will never have more than five books in your "reading currently" pile? What self-control! How will you ever be able to keep it to just five? ;-)

I wish I could keep it at five. Right now I am around ten.

Good for you! Do you read them concurrently, or one at a time?

Laura: I never read from only one book...I read little bits of each one in my pile whenever I read. Sometimes I gorge on one, especially if I'm near the end, but usually not.

Since you seem to read so many books.....
I just finished Northanger Abbey. My friend tells me I should start Pride and Predjidice next. Out of Jane Austen's works, which should I read next?

Confused: Yes, Pride and Prejudice should come next. After that, you should probably read Emma, then Persuasion, then Sense and Sensibility, then Mansfield Park. How did you like Northanger Abbey?
