Tea month!
(inspired by this post by Krista)
Tea is one of the most enchanting drinks there is. Not only is it reminiscent of Britain and the 1800s, it comes in so many flavors that at least one of them is bound to please people. Unless you dislike hot drinks, in which case—tsk tsk! Shame! :)
Only yesterday, our family decided to reenact a historical tea party. We only had herbal tea (it being before naptime, and caffeine being undesirable), and apples and peanut butter are hardly 1800, but it was a joy to hear "Master Iceman, might I trouble you for the sugar?"
We enjoy herbal tea with milk and sugar to taste, but my favorite tea is green, steeped for 4 minutes, with a tablespoon of milk and 3/4 teaspoon of honey. If you are interested in the ceremony of tea from the early 1800s, I enjoyed Tea with Jane Austen by Kim Wilson.
And if you're looking for a book to curl up with while sipping your delectable drink, try a Jeeves and Wooster by P.G. Wodehouse.
